I know we have had some very heated political discussions the last few days, but for today, let each of us take a moment and focus on Texas, the Gulf, the residents, the health care and relief teams who are there now, are heading there, or will soon go down to do what it is we do best - care for others in time of need...

"For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.....I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.'.........

Hi,  I am in the heart of the storm as we speak.  The eye has passes, we aren't leaking Too, Too, badly.  Some of the hospitals in this district have also taken a leak to the windows I suspect.

Our worst problem will be the flooding.  40% of Harris county is out of electricity which is most of Houston and surrounding areas.  The refineries are shut down over in Baytown and the Pasadena areas.  That is where I live.  Or did live.....will know for certain.  I don't expect any damage but I don't think chocolate icecream will make my behind any bigger.  Take care all.

I will post the non-gross pictures I run across.  The best one I saw was last night in the nurses's lounge at the Cath Lab.  Someone had boarded up their windows and painted, "IKE go home! TINA's not here."

God Bless all the Texans out there! We are a strong state and will recover from this. My parents are in Dallas and my grandfather is near Waco.  They seem to be ok right now.  Texas is my home and will be in my prayers!

My brother was stationed at Fort Hood, Texas a couple of times.  It is a beautiful state especially around the gulf. Hope everyone will say a prayer for all the people there. Good luck to everyone involved with hurricane Ike.
