I am thinking about going to Nursing School and I have a couple of questions. It is mostly about being squeamish.  I have given shots before, but it was very hard for me to do it. (my friend is legally prescribed anabolic steroids because his pituitary gland stopped functioning properly and his body did not produce testosterone naturally)  I am wondering if most nursing students are squeamish at first and then get over it. I am a licensed aesthetician and doing body waxing bothered me at first because I know that it is uncomfortable. Now, I have no problem. I also am fine with doing extractions of blackheads and whiteheads and the little bit of blood and pus does not bother me. I am just worried as to whether I will be able to give shots, draw blood and insert catheters etc..

You'll be fine! Its a lot to get used to but as your exposure to procedures grow, your sensitivity decreases...however you will find areas you don't like and that's the best part of nursing school- you get the chance to try differnt aspects of nursing and decide your course...and even then there will always be something new ...
