I've been a proud, productive and possitive member of NursingLink from very early on... and I have always touted this as one of the better online nursing communities on the internet... and still do.  But, there are others.  Social networkers generally find between one and five communities which they consider "home".   That is a manageable number (generally speaking).  Who has the time to manage 10, 20 or 30?  I'm a member of 80 or more and, I'll tell you, I can not keep up.  

medXcentral is an online community where you can put up an "alternate residence".  If NursingLink is your Primary Residence... well... medXcentral could be your Vacation Home.  Best of all... we're building it to be a central hub for the Medical and Healthcare Universe... a place where you can find all sorts of other great places to be on the web.  We've even set up a group on medXcentral for NursingLink members who join our community.  Check it out by clicking here.

We are still considering the overall architecture of the community... and we are very new.  So, please don't judge us by our size and content today.  Truth be told... I started it myself.  I'm not backed by any multi-million dollar company (at least not yet) and I'd love to hear how you think an online community should be organized.
