This girl at my job briefly mentioned that shes dating this guy and he's very well educated? i never really understood what that means? Is attending Harvard and Princeton define you as being well educated or is it just any college in general? or does it depend on what you study such as MD, Lawyer?  I know someone who went to college to study culionary arts he's a waitor and i have a friend who never been to college but she is a Administrator at a Corporate business. I wouldn't think the waitor is more educated then the adminitrator?

Connie, this is a very good question. I never understood that descriptor either. I do not believe that education and intelligent are one and the same. My brother-in-law could not read or write but he was by no means an unintelligent person. My point here is that intelligence and well educated are two different things.

There have been many self-educated people who have done very well. Look at Abraham Lincoln for one example. Much credence is put into the Ivy League schools. Is there a difference? I don’t know, I have never been to an Ivy League school.

Does being a lawyer make you more educated than someone with a degree in hotel management? I don’t think so. Personally, I feel that nurses fit the description of “well educated”

This is all just my perception on the question.
