Have you ever seen anything like this before?

Have you ever seen anything like this before? Just look at this site and what is going on. I have never seen so much animosity and passion. It is one thing to be passionate about your political beliefs. However, things have gone way over the top here.  What has gotten into everyone? You would think this was a site for a bunch of uneducated gang members rather than for someone in the heath care professions. Why all of the stooping to name calling and bad feelings? Everyone is getting sucked into the name calling and losing sight of the many valid points that have been made by both sides. Let’s start over and try to listen to each other and stop with bashing each other.

Ginny, thank you very much for stating this. It needed to be said, and I couldn't agree with you more..

Voices of reason have tried to speak many times...maybe this time we'll all try to get along- and when someone tries to draw us into a confrontation we'll ignore them...

Okay, seems like it is being ignored. I guess all would rather slam one another. I tried. This is about the third time that I have tried since this all started. Have at all. Let's go have a free for all brawl.

Now that's funny.

Nothing personal, but honestly, iluvnrsing, haven't you along with several others been the ones pouring the kerosene on the fire?

It's just a bit disingenous to say "let it go", don't you think?  Unless you're done being inflammatory too - I cry foul.

Not to start another argument, but - please.

It's a bit like Bush complaining about the Russians starting a war of aggression with Georgia.

That will rile the rednecks (oops, suppose that's politically incorrect but thought some humor might lighten the group!!

Seems like hugging is better than the " F* you" attitude several of you have toward each other.... my bad

I've posted my last reply on Right Choice if anyone cares to read it. But, as Ginny said, we're in a profession to help people, I take that to mean help each other as well. These topics have been on this site for awhile now and it's created feelings that would not have happened otherwise. Whatever happened to love thy neighbor? I've had some wonderful conversations and emails with people on this site and I refuse to let politics bring them to an end. We are in control of what we post here. Nobody is holding a gun to our head and making us type. No matter where you go or what you do, there will always be someone to incite..don't take the bait. As for upsetting the rednecks..I am one and it doesn't bother me.

I'm not much on the touchy, feely, hugging stuff...but hey...whatever works. BTW, the touchy feely came from George Jefferson on the sitcom "The Jefferson's"  or something like that...spin off of "All in the Family".

Everyone have a great day...beating your head against the wall just gives you a headache.

I think some of us should remember when communicating online, we don't see smiles, or hear laughter, or different intonations that would and could lead to a lightening of any conversation.

dmazment: you are so right...depending on the day or personal situation at the time a person reads a post can determine their reaction to it. I've posted alot of things to lighten up a situation and I'm sure that not everyone sees it that way. You know what the saying is about not pleasing everybody all the time...a person cannot spend their entire life taking everything that's said personally.

Dmazement, most of the time, I disagree with you politically; but here I agree with your sentiment and we need to be more civil and tolerant of our colleagues.

I stay away from commenting on the political posts, other than reading them, just for that reason, Ginny. I'm not even sure who I am going to vote for this fall for President. I don't like the mud slinging. I want to hear the topics and exactly how they are going to fix what is wrong. I watch all the debates. I try not to look at party, but the last 8 years will surely influence which way I may vote. Thank you for your post, Ginny!

A point of agreement, please keep it going! Perhaps if we actually show respect or at least tolerance we can find more common ground.

I agree.  We should act like grown ups.  Let's start fresh everyone.

You are smart for staying away from the political topics. I posted my last post tonight on the subject.

I don't post in the political forums either. I posted twice and got attacked both times, so I decided it wasnt worth it. I do go in them occasionally just to read, and  usually end up shaking my head thinking, how mean people can be. I wish they would just lock them all.

I post on the political forums, but I feel pretty comfortable with my facts. If I don't know something for sure, or can't document where I got the info, I don't post it. I'd rather say nothing, than say something not true, defammatory and get attacked. We're all grown ups here and we should be able to discuss, turn the volume down a few decibles and LISTEN to what others are saying. it might be interesting!

Thanks, laura; it means a lot. But i think we should all be able to state the facts (just the facts, Jack!) without cutting and pasting from a website. I mean, you either know them, or you don't. And if you do, putting them into your own words only adds credibility and gives yout he confidence to speak aboutt hem. For many years I was too lazy to look things up, so I took to asking my husband. He'd explain and I'd have my answer.

Lately,  he's started this thing of continually saying "you go look it up  and find the answer. You'll never learn if I give you the answer all the time." But you know, sometimes you just do want the answer and  he doesn't know how close he's come to getting strangled!
