Hello all!! I am not sure what everyones avenue for schooling was, but, I have been considering going the vocational/private school route. Does anyone know what the approx. caost for the vocational nursing program is?(I know it varies with each school) I am not sure if it will work. I plan on going to there(Summit career colloege or Everest) VN program then doing the VN to Rn program at a community college. Do employers frown upon these schools?

Thanks all!!

Most LPN/LVN get their diploma from vocational schools. As long as it is a good school (good reputation and board certified), you will learn a lot and employers will not have a problem hiring you....and as long as you pass your boards too. There are a lot of programs that offer LPN/LVN to RN programs, and some employers will even foot the bill for this. As for the price, don't know what it is now...sorry! Back in 1984 when I started and went through a PN program (at a vo-tech), it was only $2,500.

Good luck!

Cost wise, your best best if a local community college.
