I had a patient ask me the other day if I was a 2 yr or a 4 yr RN. I told her I was an LPN and she refused to let me care for her! Stating that I didn't have an education! Has this happened to any one else? It sucks! I am a well trained LPN with more clinical hours than those that go straight to their RNs!

don't let it get to you.  You are a nurse....LPNurse...who cares what your stupid patient thought.  Hey, one less patient for you to worry about.

I've had patients say to me "I want a real nurse" and  I say "I am a real nurse!"

I am sure I'm not the only RN who has had her butt saved by LPNs.  The LPNs in nursing school were the ones I hung out with because their knowledge base was so impressive compared to mine.  Do not let that jerk get you down...........I bet the RN she 'allowed' to care for her was doing massive eyerolls when she/he wasn't looking!  I love to encourage LPN's to bridge into RN programs.........they run circles around the students like me who did not have their experience.  Thank you for what you do, by the way.................because I'm sure you've saved an RN's butt more than once too, k?

I bet she's a dried up retired nurse.  Nurses make the WORSE patients on the planet btw.  When I had surgery last year I was horrible.  I blame the drugs.
