I have a question, I was recently hired at a Community Health Center, I was there only a few days when one of the Physicians started picking apart everything I did. If I said the color of the sky was blue he had to tell me I was wrong that it was violet... He harassed me on an almost daily basis, my supervisor was aware as was his supervisor. I forgot to cross my t or dot my I, I know there are no laws against being a hateful person, but there are laws against harassment in the work place and retaliation. I am trying to find a lawyer that would take the case. I have documented everything thing that happen while I was at work there.
He was counseled on the harassment the friday before Labor day and I was terminated the day we returned to work. I was told to let the other staff triage his patients and well I got in trouble for that and there was a piece of paper that was moved and of course he could not find it b/c he looked in the bins and the drawers not right in front of his face on the desk. This was the day I was terminated, he informed the CEO and my supervisor either they fire me or he quits and because he brings in revenue I had to go.
It is not fair that I was in the right and he in the wrong and I was punished for it. I have a family to support and bills to pay but all that did not matter in the long run.
I contacted the board of nursing and they said to call the enforcment agency so I went online and emailed some one I believe was the enforcment agency but I have no idea if they were the right people. She also said I could speak with someone in a nurses association if I belonged to one. Legal counsel also but I have been unable to find someone who I should talk to.
Thank you for your time
