Posted over 5 years ago Heard of it. but no experience with it. Of course I've only heard all the rosy stories drug reps tell. No actual stories from folks who have used it.

Posted over 5 years ago I haven't heard about the vaccine. But my fiancee had shingles a few months ago. It was awful. He was in so much pain and his Dr. didn't even prescribe any pain med. I was furious. When he came back home I called that Dr. and reminded him of what shingles were and how painful they were. I might have been out of line but that is my family and that Dr.'s patient. Patient advocacy! My fiancee couldn't believe I did that.

Posted over 5 years ago I developed shingles on my face, neck and half my chest about 4 weeks ago. They are the most painful thing ever. I had no idea patients suffered so much with this. Pain meds are a must. I went into a depression that lasted 2 weeks. It was just a horrible experience. I must say though, vaccines scare me a little. But shingles are AWEFUL!!

Posted over 5 years ago I had shingles early in the year, rash and burning pain on lower left back, I could live with the pain but the itching was enough to drive you crazy, I went to see my PA, told him what I had he agreed, I told him I didn't need pain meds, he recomended benedryl for the itch I had to put up with it for about a month and kept away from my sick mother and my grand kids till the rash cleared up. I think if the vacine works it will be well worth getting.
