Posted over 4 years ago Hello All!! I am working on a new contract with the department of corrections- this is the first time I have ever worked with them. Is anybody a prison nurse? Could anybody tell me if they worked for an agency how much they would like to make? Thank you so much for your help!! |

| Posted over 4 years ago Thank you- that is the point wher I am stuck...I am not sure what the salary is for prison nurses...Does anybody know what the avg. pay rate is for prison nurses? |

| Posted over 4 years ago I worked in prisons for > 15 years- from staff to administrator. Unfortunaately the pay for correctioal nurses does not have hazardous duty pay. It usually is comfortable to hospital nursing in your area with shift dif. As a prn, it should be abot $4 dollars more. Hold on to your guns because they are in desperate need of nurses to work in that environment. |
