Posted about 1 year ago What have you done today to shape your world? Did you hold a patient's hand? Did you help a fellow student study for an exam? Did you make the world a better place, and if so...let us know how :) We can all strive for at least one daily example! |

| Posted about 1 year ago Today I worked with my daughter on our scrapbook. I let her know how much I liked what she did. She also worked on decorating her pumpkin for a Halloween contest. Lastly, I helped her care for a wound on her chest. She got a scratch, and I let her know how to care for it, so it wouldn't get infected. We put some Neosporin on it and a bandage. I want her to learn how to take care of herself. She is only 10 and growing up so fast. Too fast for Mama. She is very interested in medicine. I think my daughters may end up doing something in the medical field. A good man loves other. A better man loves God. A great man loves God and lives well among others! I miss you daddy!

| Posted about 1 year ago Aww, it is times like this when I wish I had kids :) Thanks for sharing, Mamadawn! What I did today (not a lot!): I graciously accepted that I got put on call in for work today. Instaed of being angry about having to stay here and wait it out, I was happy that I even have a job to go to. I was happy for my coworkers, that they know that they have relief, should they need it. I am happy that I do not have to wash and iron my uniforms, as m boss said that I could actually wear scrubs if they call me in...what a luxury! :) |

| Posted about 1 year ago I worked on a spread sheet for A &P class, for foods & chemicals in my body. I'm really thankfull my husband is a computer programer. Thus, I provided the subject criteria, he formulated the spread sheet. Susie |

| Posted about 1 year ago This morning, I helped a woman cross over to the other side, and her family gather around her to let her know it was ok to go, and that they would be just fine, and they would all be together again one day. That has to be the most satisfying thing I have ever had the honor to do. And although I sometimes cry along with the families, I am told, that I made the process easier for them and their loved one. |

Wow...what an amazing experience...you are truly blessed, as is the patient's family for having such a nurse as you! |

| Posted about 1 year ago I loosened up today with regards to peds. I wore a face mask as a hat to gain the trust of a two year old girl. I let her play with the thermometer that I was going to use as a timer, and I did not freak out when she dumped all of her cheerios on the floor (so on purpose!) I let her listen to my heart with my stethoscope. I let her (and mom!) sleep in til 0900. I made her macaroni and cheese for lunch because she did not want our food. I let her loose from the continuous pulse ox for a half an hour to play, sans wires. I kissed her on the forehead before I left today. |

| Posted about 1 year ago I worked last night, so I hope I said or did something to make my patient feel better. I hope that in someway I make a difference in her life. I gave thanks that I have a job and do not have to have alot of money to live on. A Proud Redneck Lovin' the Country Life |

Amen to that! I bet we are all praising our job security these days! I think we all impact our patients, whether we know it or not... |

| Posted about 1 year ago I was lucky enough to have had the time to spend with a wonderful patient. I was blessed by only having two patients...I believe so that I could spend time with one that really needed TLC. She just found out she had CA with mets throughout her body. I bathed her, listened to her, held her hand, stayed in the room when she started sundowning, helped her eat., scratched her back.... The family situation was a mess...round and round all day with no decisions made. The patient wished to remain a full code, family wanted a SNF and not hospice...ugh! I just did my best to help my patient get through the day the best way that I knew how. How stressful for her! |

| Posted about 1 year ago Today I helped a young lady find a better way of dealing with her anger at herself rather than stabbing her arm with a pencil. Although we do not have the most ideal therapeutic setting (given that we are a jail) I am grateful that I was able to help her redirect her anger and find a safer alternative. |
