When is it a conflict of interest...

Posted over 4 years ago Is it a conflict of interest if: 1. Your mother is a resident at the nursing home you work at and you are the nurse for her; passing her meds, tx, and charting on her as her nurse? 2. As an A. D.O.N. your mother is a nurse under you and your aunts are CNA's? |

| Posted over 4 years ago There was supposedly a "policy" at the hospital that a family member could not be in a supervisory position over another...how long do you think that one lasted? What are the NH policies in that regard? |

| Posted over 4 years ago One should not be taking care of any family member in any NH or hospital. MOst places have policies prohibiting family members supervising workers. |

| Posted over 4 years ago The rule of thumb has always been, you don't take care of a family member. Physicians used to hold to this, but it seems anymore they do treat their own family in too many instances. Everywhere I have ever worked, you can work in the same facility, but you can not work in the same department if you or a family member is in a managerial position and would be your immediate supervisor. |
