Is it a conflict of interest if:  1.  Your mother is a resident at the nursing home you work at and you are the nurse for her; passing her meds, tx, and charting on her as her nurse?

2.  As an A. D.O.N. your mother is a nurse under you and your aunts are CNA's?

There was supposedly a "policy" at the hospital that a family member could not be in a supervisory position over another...how long do you think that one lasted? What are the NH policies in that regard?

One should not be taking care of any family member in any NH or hospital.

MOst places have policies prohibiting family members supervising workers.

The rule of thumb has always been, you don't take care of a family member.  Physicians used to hold to this, but it seems anymore they do treat their own family in too many instances.

Everywhere I have ever worked, you can work in the same facility, but you can not work in the same department if you or a family member is in a managerial position and would be your immediate supervisor.
