Ok, I have wanted to be a nurse and am going to start going to college for it. There are so many different types of nurses that you can be. How do you know which one is right for you? Does each different one require different course in school?

There are no specific classes in nursing school that you have for any type of nursing. Nursing school gives you a broad area of study. Your specialty comes from where you choose to work. I think that all new nurses need to start on a med-surg unit to give them the basic understanding of a variety of patients. After that then you can base your specialty on something that has interested you from that experience.

I plan on starting on the neurology/neurosurge floor. It's where I have always wanted to be.. hope I get it! (I finish May 2008 and will work as a GPL then...)
