I'm an RN who's been out of the clinical arena for a long time and was considering returning to the job market. Has anyone else done this and, if so, how did you obtain refresher courses to update your skills?

I just posted looking for information about refresher courses and possible re-entry internship information. I see ads for refresher courses but then when you check into them they are self study and you have to set up a precetor yourself and that is hard to do if you have been out of nursing and don't really know anyone, and most of these are from a different state. I am going to Concord CA soon and am looking into that area and hope to find something, perhaps a hospital.
