Ok that would be #1, but if they allowed other laws, I'd also like to make it illegal for anyone knowingly exposing second hand smoke to kids or disabled people.  If you are over 18, you have a right to smoke <ptooey>, but its so bad for the heart, not to mention the cancer causing agents.  I wish people would pull over and get out of the car if they have to have that smoke instead of having the babies inhale that crap.  Also my facility's discharge instructions when they had a cabg is of course  NO SMOKING but also no second hand smoke.  Last week, I had an elderly guy who almost teared up because he lives with his daughter and her husband who are heavy smokers.  Their response to the second hand smoke issue was "we'll be sure to open a window".  It was sad.

We only have one heart, take care of it!

I think they need to change the HIPPA laws.  I think it hinders patient care in many ways.  I understand outside people should be limited, but when you are a health care worker at one facility and you call to check on them at another even if they are comming back to your place it is hard to get information.

Breniaha, I agree.  HIPPA makes things difficult.

I would not allow smoking in public places.  It get on my nerves to see butts throwed everywhere and not in the catrillion ash trays that are not even a inch away from where the butt lays.  and that smoke drives me freaking crazy.  the smell is just horrible.

Mandatory life sentence for anyone found guilty of sexual or physical abuse of a child, and minimum 20 year sentence for anyone found guilty of severe child neglect.  Child abuse has life long effects on the victim.   Only the strong are able to work through what they endured as a child, and become productive adults.  Others who have grown up in foster care, turn around and commit the same offense on their children.  It's a vicious circle.  Somthing has to change!  Child abuse is wrecking families everywhere, in every community.

As a survivor myself, I have to agree with you 100% It takes a strong, strong person an entire lifetime to overcome.
