I'm so sorry you didn't pass the test but please don't give up - some of the best nurses I know didn't pass the first time.

Whe you are ready to take the test again, you can take it anywhere you want to - the test is the same nationwide. If you want to work somewhere else, the you will have to apply for a license in another state but it might be easier to pass in your original state and then getr licensed somewhere else by endorsement (it's usually cheaper too!)

Again, please don't give up - you didn't fail - you just haven't passed yet! :) We all have things that we've had to try more than once before we succeeded and you can do this too!

Good luck April 12 - I'll keep my fingers crossed for you (except when I'm typing, of course!)

SOrry you didn't pass, but you shouldn't be so hard on yourself. You've come a long way and you're almost there.  Take it again. I know people who passed the first time around and I know others who took it more than once. Be proud and don't be ashamed. I'm not a RN yet and I haven't taken the NCLEX yet, but I can imagine how you feel. I'm a student who will be graduating in May 2009...God willing! Best wishes to you.

Follow lunarcaustic's lead ang get a study guide. I too would like to know why you think it is better to take the test somewhere else. It is the same test and the same group that you go throguh no matter where you take it NCLEX is NCLEX

Just like they said, don't give up.  I too did not pass the nclex the first time and also had an interview ( by phone) 10 minutes after I found out that I did not pass.  Well, lucky for me, I did pass 6 weeks later and I also got the job that I interviewed for!  Just don't give up.  It will happen

thanks cdnurse..

ill do that..

well.. actually.. the reason why im thinking of applying to New Mexico is..

see.. Im a newly elected local government official here in our city (im from Philippines).. and my term will last until 2012.. and I applied for NCLEX-RN California before I got elected.. and since I've won, there has been some twists in the plans and priorities..

if ever ill reapply for California and if ever I will pass the exam the 2nd time in that state.. Ill be having a problem in acquiring the SSN for me to get my license.. cause I cant leave my duties and responsibilities as a public servant here.. I cant leave the country within 2 years..

and I did some research.. found out that in the New Mexico, you can just renew your license by paying some amount even if you're not in the state.. umm.. well.. that's what they told me..

hope everything will work out for me..

^^v
