For a while now I have noticed that someone has been giving Obama "gifts" to people on the opposing side. Now someone has tagged me. I deleted it. I am not offended, but this is humor suited to ten year olds.

If this is the kind of childishness this site has degenerated to, I give up. I have never said anything inflammatory about Obama. Now I am someone's enemy. So, you will not hear from me again. Thank you for allowing me to participate, for a while, in some intelligent discussion.

Thanks for your support! Looking at my post I didn't really make it very clear - I just meant I will stay away from the political discussions... I'll still be around! No one can run me off - I've been punched, kicked, stabbed and shot. I can survive a silly tag!

Unfortunately it's more than one person - I've watched people I condsider friends (on both sides of the fence) tear each other apart, and be torn apart. That is not pleasant. I come here to relax a little in between handling life's problems, not to get aggravated! I want to enjoy myself - so I guess the best way is to stick to the posts not involving politics or abortion.

No one likes a good political fight more than I, but until we can clear the children off the battlefield, I guess we'll continue to see a lot of name calling and personal attacks.

Anyway, Thanks... I'll be around for awhile - now I have to go carve a pumpkin......

I hear you!  Things are getting very tense around here.  I guess that is to be expected with so many things at stake.  I've become very selective myself.  I also think you should stick around.  I admire your ability to be strong in your views but open-minded enough to hear others and share wisdom.  ;-)  We need you!!!  

I can remember one political fight almost as vehement as this one and it was the election between Kennedy and Nixon.  Neighbors would put stickers of the opposing candidates on cars, put signs of opposing candidates in yards.  Neighbors wouldn't talk to neighbors.  It was nuts.  However, it wasn't nearly as extreme as this one.  Probably because of the different eras.  No one would think of calling the candidates the names they have called the candidates  now, nor would they have attacked each other the way different factions have attacked here.  I am no angel, but in my defence, I reacted to situations.

I'm like Ginny, I just keep getting pulled back in but it's a moot point for me anyway, I've already voted.
