| Posted over 4 years ago You are not alone . . . I work on a m.s. floor as a CNA, and have had many years of experiance in the medical field. . . as a caregiver. I still find myself wondering, while in clinic, or taking a test, "hey, did you even seen this with any other pt/ or was this even lectured on?". It's happens. If one thing is true . . . YOU will never stop learning . . . It is an RN practice. Even if you have seen something a million times, every pt. is different, in some way.
I don't know if this applys, at all or just in part, but NEVER GIVE UP !!! as the girl in the GAMe: TEKkEN would say . . . If you don't know what I am talking about, it's ok . . . it's really funny, beilive me. |

| Posted almost 4 years ago hey there youre not an idiot. sometimes, anxiety is what causes a person to have difficulty in learning; let me explain it this way, you just have to try hard to set in your mind opennesss in learning and not thinking its hard...you know? it works with me, coz im kind of a slow learner sometimes. you just have to read and read and try hard to analyze it and understand and when you learn to love medical-surgical nursing and somehow, it will seem less difficult to learn. hope this helps. GOD bless. |

| Posted almost 4 years ago I feel your pain bro'. Med/surg made me realize that I did not know HOW to think. You sound like you are on the right track, just take small steps and it will start to make sense. During our med/surg rotation, I thought that I would go work at the VA nursing home after nursing school. I could not imagine working in med/surg. But, I found that I loved the patient care and the bedside nursing, so my first job out of nursing school was on a very busy med/surg unit. but, I do feel your pain, trust me. I have a thimble on my mantle. In it, I have what's left of my "guy logic" and the few drops of male pride that remained after nursing school. Once in a while, I take it down and look at it, then carefully replace it. lol, it will get beaten out of you! take care and hang in there. peace Walt |
