Calling all Nurses: Egg a sexy nurse costume if you see it tonight ;)

Posted over 4 years ago Well perhaps this is a bit extreme...but I do find the image insulting and sexist. I am not going to outright confront anyone tonight if I see it ( becasue I want to have fun!) but I will definately give my opinion if asked. Perhaps it is just me, but I tend to get annoyed with it. What do you all think?

| Posted over 4 years ago It doesn't bother me at all on halloween. I think it bother's me more when I see it on TV all through the season. If you watch any of the TV shows, all the nurses are pretty and buxom. I think that affects the publics image of us more. LOL, yesterday, my 14 yo son went to a Halloween party dressed as 'Dr House'.....cane, vicodin bottle (filled with candy), and scrub top...so the image's of TV affects a lot more! |

| Posted over 4 years ago Maybe you should go back and look at some of the outfits Nurses wore back in the day.....My MeMaw was the epitomy of a sexy nurse without trying..she was beautiful in her stockings and dress and cute little hat...

| Posted over 4 years ago My husband used to like that 'sexy' white dress that I wore as a nursing student, OMG 20 years ago. LOL, I didn't wear a nursing dress again, wasn't practical when doing CPR....scrubs are much more practical. LOL |

I'd like to think not, but I looked very prudent. Glad that it has changed though, because dresses are not very practical in the clinical setting as KittyRN pointed out. ~Monica |

That's just too funny that he dressed up as Dr. House. I guess he's too young to grow some scraggly facial hair! LOL! |

| Posted over 4 years ago I think what was even funnier was most people recognized immediately that he was dressed as Dr House.... Show's how many people watch medical shows on TV! |

We still wear those dresses in nursing schools in the Philippines actually... And we do those things which you pointed out. Check out my pics for proof. |

| Posted over 4 years ago That was one thing that I found so amazing when shopping at the Halloween store, where did all the conservative costumes go? My Angel costume was one of the very few that I found, and I had a hard time finding that one. I don't care what others do, to each their own, but I just don't feel comfortable letting it all hang out.... |

| Posted over 4 years ago the more conservative the better. I have young children, and I don't want them wearing anything sexy. A good man loves other. A better man loves God. A great man loves God and lives well among others! I miss you daddy!

| Posted over 4 years ago I do agree about the costumes for kids...but look around at what our kids are wearing these days for every day clothes!!!! I am so glad my daughter followed my advice... ONe year my step daughter told her father she wanted to dress like the spice girls...LOL...bless his heart he blurted out..in front of his mother no less... "Oh So you want to look like a SLUT???".......LOL Some people want to complain about what their children are wearing....I say...If I am buying the clothes??....Then I have the right to set the limits!!!!....AND if you live under my roof???....I have the right to set the limits... Being a parent is a tough job....and yes you have to set limits....
speak your mind..for those that matter dont mind and those that mind ..dont matter.. |

| Posted over 4 years ago I'm 21 and had a hard time finding something "conservative and normal" looking. LOL. Everything was sexy. Sexy nurse, sexy cop, sexy witch, sexy dr., sexy little red riding hood, sexy, snow white, sexy tinkerbell...........OMG! Everything was shorter than short and scooped lower than low. I was a pirate and the costume was a little short but at least it kept "the girls" in. LOL LOL I saw so many YOUNG girls and teens wearing these costumes. I think the mothers need to be punched in the noses! |

| Posted over 4 years ago Friday's are an outpatient rehab day for me..........the MD who was working for us that day said he wanted us all to dress like 'Pirates of the Caribbean"........He's a great guy, fabulous md <my mom goes to him>, nice guy too, and he looks like Turk from 'Scrubs'. He showed up like Capt Jack Sparrow, and some of the nurses wore pirate gear, one did the 'Sea Hag' thing. Hahaha..........gotta have a sense of humor.
We only have one heart, take care of it! Angie |

| Posted over 4 years ago The worst costume ever were girls wearing only lingerie... That's not even considered a costume! They are probably just looking for someone to hook up with... |

True beauty should be measured by whats on the inside because looks fade and boobs sag....LOL speak your mind..for those that matter dont mind and those that mind ..dont matter.. |

| Posted over 4 years ago Some of our trick-or-treaters this year were dressed , um, scratch that UNdressed nasty this year! Low cut tank tops and "daisy dukes" on 3 and 4 year olds, sexy nurse (homemade costume) on a 6 year old, and the biggest shocker was a mother and her 8 year old daughter dressed in thong bikini bathing suits (with barely a piece of cloth over their boobs) and a sash that read Ms. and Miss South Richmond. How they weren't arrested for indecent exposure I don't know! |

,
We really don't have much problem with it but I love wearing our scrub suits better. It's more comfortable for me. But we only wore it during our duty in the O.R.
