This is a great recipe for a stuffed sandwich. Everything you could think of on a hamburger can go in this.
Bread Dough (frozen or fresh, let rise)
1 pound ground beef cooked and seasoned to taste then drained.
1/2 small onion raw or cooked, chopped or sliced if desired
2 cups of your favorite shredded cheese or sliced cheese.
Preheat oven to 350. After bread dough has risen, sprinkle some flour onto the counter and roll the dough out into the shape of a rectangle. Place the flattened dough onto a greased or foiled cookie sheet and the eges will hang over the sides. In the middle of your dough, (length wise) spoon the meat out making a mound about 2-3 inches from edges. Sprinkle your onions, or anything else you want to put on your hamburger ontop making a larger mound. Sprinkle the cheese ontop making sure to keep the 2-3 inch border. Gently pick up the right side of your dough and pull up and slightly over the top of the mound. Being careful not to puncture dough. Repeat on the left side. Using cooking spray gently spray the dough to help stick. Now take the dough farthest from you and fold towards you like wrapping a present, gently pulling over the two sides. Spray with a little cooking spray. Pick the dough up from the front and pull over the previous fold making sure that the dough comes together to form a seal and your filling stays in. Bake in the upper half of the over for 30 to 40 minutes or until golden brown.
Remove and let sit for 5 minutes. Slice like a sandwich and serve.
I also use ham and cheese with a mustard dip. There are so many variations you could do for this recipe.
