Posted about 1 year ago In your experience, what therapy groups have been most beneficial to your patients? And what group would you like to create for them? |

| Posted about 1 year ago I think the groups that are needed will vary from one unit to another. However, if I were king of the psych world, I would have life skills on ever unit. Ginny |

| Posted about 1 year ago I agree, Ginny. Psych patients get skilled at answering the same assessment questions over and over, but put them out in public in a situation where they have to use judgement and it is a different story. Case in point: a few years ago a patient was d/c'd from a psych unit with flying colors. She went through the drive through at a fast food restaurant 2 blocks from the unit. The girl at the window couldn't understand her and asked her to pull up. Her response was to pull up and drag the girl through the window and drag her 3 or 4 blocks ... not every case is like this, but Life Skills definitely helps. |
