Posted over 5 years ago I'm just about all done with my prereqs - this semester I am taking Logic (which I don't even need, but I find it very interesting) and the Interpersonal Communication class which I do need and is my last prereq. What about everyone else? |

| Posted over 5 years ago I am taking elementary algebra, Intro to philosophy and english. I hate the philosophy class. I am doing online and he wants us to post to the discussion board 4-5 a week. Being a single mom with three kids I need to print the syllabus and work. |

| Posted over 5 years ago I'm back to school, changing careers at 45. Taking Anatomy and Physio is fascinating, but I feel like someone has put a firehose of information to my head and turned it on full blast! I'm juggling a divorce, kids and work at the same time,

I am curently in school to pursue my MSN in nursing, and wants to work as a pediactric nurse, in public health. |

| Posted over 5 years ago I think I've taken all the classes listed...except Speech. The school I am interested in requires Interpersonal Comm. instead. I think Anatomy and Micro have been my favorites so far. Oh, and I loved Nutrition :) joliver - that does sound like a lot. Hang in there. You are setting a wonderful example for your kids :) |

| Posted over 5 years ago joliver, i just wanted to say that from what i've heard, that's what A & P feels like, everybody gets overwhelmed with the volume of information! where i'm going, pre-nursing students can't take it except for summer school because all the spots are taken by other health students. i don't know if it could take it in the summer, but also don't want to juggle that with nursing courses. i know what you mean about the coping skills, i'm 47 and just starting this after a divorce, and just praying the brain cells still work. good luck! |

| Posted over 5 years ago Oh My God. I would die, if I had to take A&P together in the summer time. Can you imagine all that information in about 5 to 10 weeks or less. I almost died when I took Pharmocology in 10 weeks for my Method Three LVN Program. Good Luck, YOUR BRAIN NEURONS AND DENDRITS, SYNAPS, CELLS, will need IT!!!!!!! | Posted over 5 years ago pacagal - are you taking the Nurse Entrance Test or a different one? If you are taking the official NET then you want to get a very small study guide called 'Study Guide for the NET, the HOBIT and the HELP" or something like that. It is the only study guide specific for this test. If you are taking a different nursing school entrance exam, then you should pick up on of the more general study guides for "Nursing School Entrance Exams" published by Kaplan, etc. Good luck :) |

| Posted about 5 years ago Stephanie said: I feel our pain! I am just finishing up this semester of intermediate algebra so I can get into my college algebra class next semester. I am going to just die...I'm not real good with math, but if it had some sort of reason behind it! My teacher told us that we will never use it. I just popped my head up from my desk and said....yesssssssss and? The teacher said it teaches us logic. It teaches us how to have patience and work things out. If I haven't figured how to work things out after 40 years...I am in trouble LOL! |

| Posted about 5 years ago Jae, in my college you can't take microbiology before your A&P I & II. I thought that was a bit odd, to be honest. I would have figured microbiology would be important before A&P. Not really sure. |

| Posted about 5 years ago Leesa said: Algebra is very hard, but not useless. I found that I was using it when I put it in the context of nursing. Calculations and finding the unknown variable. I just finished Intro to Statistics and felt my brain melting by the end of the quarter. If you need any help, just holler! |

| Posted about 5 years ago I work full time as well and I am taking Speech I and Psychology. All i have left is A&P, Microbiology, and Pharmacology left fro prereqs. So far so good I am currently with an A average but we'll see what happens when I get to the other courses. I too do not want to cram any of the prereqs into a summer session. They would have to go over about 5-6 chapters in a week and I can't do that and work full time. Good luck to everyone! |

| Posted about 5 years ago Hi Pam. If I understand your question correctly, how about a variety of questions that show up on the TEAS test? The Community Colleges in my area are requiring candidates to take the TEAS test prior to entering the program and one must obtain at least 67%. If not, he/she will have to take the necessary classes where the weaknesses need to be strengthened. Not sure how long their spots are on hold for but I know, not for long. One Nursing Program had 1200 applicants and only 75 spots to fill... The prereq's that I am taking this semester are Nutrition and Human Development. Then I have Chemistry and the three biology classes left to take before applying. |

| Posted about 5 years ago mramsey40 said: I have talked to alot of nurses and they have said that they never use it. And that they were not good with Math either. I can see where you might use it instead of ratio and proportions. In my algebra book last quarter there were some algebra word problems for the medical field. I don't really care for the algebra. I want to use the basic math for med calculations! I am not the greatest at math either. |

| Posted almost 5 years ago I am taking Biology and Algebra. Next is Anatomy and Speech ( As long as I can find the some money). But it will all work out I will just keep on trucking. I'm the oldest person in my Biology class, I am even older than the teacher. But guess who has the highest grade point average? There is something to say about maturity. |
