So, now what? Obama has won. The left wing is essentially in power. I can only hope and pray that this country voted the right person in office. My gut tells me otherwise. I hope my gut is wrong.

Please, no gloating. Try to convince me that its going to be ok. Right now I'm just not feeling it.

Now you know how many of us felt after Bush was voted in initially and most of us were proven right.  I think many of you are mistaken when you think Obama is far left.  I don't think he is as liberal as many think he is and will prove this in the time to come.  I think he is fair minded, seeking balance within the US and asking EVERYONE to work towards change.  He has said over and over this is not about him but about everyone making changes.

Well, Dmazement, talk is cheap, and actions speak louder than words. It would be nice to see Obama reaching across the isle to conservatives, but he had many far left groups fund his campaign, and there are already reports that they are planning to push their agenda with him being elected. Naturally I would hope he would not let them succeed, but they did spent alot of money on his campiagn, so they may be feeling owed.

Just like Bush played the tune for the right wing conservatives?  I doubt it, I think Obama has far more integrity than what you think he has, certainly far more integrity than dumbya.

Here's a thought, why not support the new president rather than continually doubting what he may or may not do?

I feel the Obama will do the absolute best job for this country,.. He is under alot of pressure to do so, being the first African American he knows he is under the miroscope..

Who knows, maybe, just maybe he will end up the best President we have ever had.

Let's give the man a chance to see before passing judgement and thinking negative. I have heard alot of Republican Senators say, they are sure he will do a good job..

All I know is anyone is better than the President currenlty holding office....

And what will you do if it's not ok? You are just going to deal with it the same way you have dealt with the last 8 years. I don't see what good it does to worry about judging a man who hasn't even had a chance yet. Give him a break. You are judging him on all the propaganda right? I am sure he will do just fine. Maybe not as good as YOU want but he most definantly will not single handedly ruin our country.

THAT'S ABSLOUTELY RIGHT!!!! IF THINGS GET WORSE IT WILL BE BECAUSE OF THE GREEDY WALL STREET THUGS, AND BANKING CEO'S NOT BEING HELD ACCOUNTABLE. NOT TO MENTION LETTING THE SAME CEO'S CONTINUE TO WORK IN THAT CAPACITY AFTER BAILING THEIR DUMB (YOU KNOW WHAT) OUT.... I REALLY HOPE OUR GOVERNMENT DOES SOMETHING ABOUT THIS BECAUSE IT MAKES ME SICK... WE NEED TO SCREAM TO OUR CONGRESS MEN THAT IF THEY DO NOT DO SOMETHING, THIS WILL BE THE LAST TIME WE VOTE FOR THEM... NOT MATTER WHAT SIDE YOU ARE ON...

OH YEA, AND THESE ARE THE GUYS THAT MCCAIN WOULD HAVE GIVEN TAX BREAKS TO.  SEE ALL THE JOBS NOW DON'T YA....SORRY, THIS WILL PROBABLY START A RIOT ON HERE, BUT I AM FURIOUS ABOUT THIS BS...WE ALL SHOULD BE..

chruska.............look, I'm about as right wing as they come and I'm proud of it!  We have got to evolve and go with this election.  We have no choice, and as far as my thoughts, I'm just going to do my part in doing my job, pay my taxes, pay my bills, and not let this eat me alive.  I am so sick of this whole bickering thing I'm not going to give myself one single old age wrinke by worrying anymore (no new ones that is).

What to do now?  STAY BUSY.  As for myself I plan on continuing my education and advancing my career. ...... I think being busy can keep my thoughts on positive stuff..........now thats just how I work.........the more upset I am...........the happier I am to pull extra shifts at work. When I'm upset I clean alot and do projects in the house.........ever since the election.........my house is really lookin good!  Perk up.......its gonna be ok!

Deb, I just think that if Republicans ARE concerned, it's because there are no checks or balances in the system, now. Hopefully, Obama will have the integrity, to tell Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid, "The buck stops here," and only sign legislation that is good for the COUNTRY; not just good for his party.

The Senate is nearly filibuster-proof, now.

Sure, there are a few Republicans who, sadly, won't work with him; but by and large we all will. I looked at his transition website, was impressed. I was also impressed by McCain's concession speech in which he admonished staffers who "booed" at BO's name.  was it Lincoln or Jefferson, "A  House Divided Amonst Itself Cannot Stand..."  The  US of A is sooo divided right now that it scares  me.

Well there isn't a thing you can do about it for the next four years so I really don't see why you are so worried about it. Worry about the here and know. We can't possibly know wht is going to happen in the next few years and I myself am just going to continue doing the same thing I have been. AND LIVE MY LIFE! I refuse to let worrying about what may happen bring me down. Life is good. If you don't think so, just remember there is always someone out there worse off than you.

You know annie, there have been  times the pubs have been in control of both the house, senate, and White House but I've never heard the angst I've been hearing in this forum before when that happened.

I think Barack Obama has far more intelligence and integrity than many are giving him credit for.  The ad campaigns throughout this election, mostly from the pub side was full of lies, innuendos and half truths which has stirred this country up and done far more damage than many realize.  We have the first Bi-Racial President elect.  He has more death threats since he was elected than any other President elect in history.

Maybe it would be a good thing if all those who are naysayers step back and worry about right now.  Not about what might happen, not worry about what might be or cry over what might have been.  Put your energy into working towards a positive goal.

dmazment.............I think one of the reasons alot of us have been under stress isn't Senator/President elect Obama..........its those dang people adding to the economic crisis.  Personnally, I had calmed down regarding the election.  Now the bailouts are turning into a circus of hand outs.  The new thing now  is the discussion of bailing out the auto industries and AIG added several more billions to their 'wish list'.............where does it end?  I do not hold Obama responsible for this...............I'm really disliking them old farts that have been in charge for a long time......both dem AND repub.........a bunch of crooked  turds.   Most of us are perfectily willing and happy to help Obama.....I am hoping he'll clean house once he's there.

No kidding, are we a bunch of spoil American's or what. Has anybody stopped to think about the little children who haven't eaten today? I know that would not be nearly as fueled a topic, but just a thought...

Deb, I guess I missspoke. I'm concerned that Nancy Pelosi, under pressure from Chuck Schumer, Chris Dodd and Barney Frank, will get their misguided hands on Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid; and another bailout, this time of the auto industry will happen. There may be a filibuster-proof Senate  (that race is still in the air) so next step prez Obama.

When the airlines where in the auto makers position, it was bankruptcy and reorganization time.

This will be a real test of his pledge to be the President of the  UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, not the red states of America or the blue states of America. I pledge to support Obama and pray that the job he's about to be handed isn't bigger than he is. I do think him rather competent.

I guess only time will tell. I am impressed that like Lincoln, Obama is appointing people who he ran against as his advisors. I jsut hope this isn't just a stunt. I was disappointed to hear that a leak between the metting of Bush and Obama was given to the media.

The leak was MSNBC's Andrea Mitchell. Supposedly, Obama showed Bush "How it was done". I sure hope the leak wasn't from Obama, but that's whats being implied. If so, then that's kinda immature. Now is the time for unity , not pissing contests.
