Last night I found out one of my friends from school died of a seizure. I saw her on Tuesday and we found out she had passed on, on Thursday. I asked my other friend Carolline why good people seem to die so soon and she said, "They don't need to be here anymore". I can really give what she said justice in an online post but it gave me comfort. It really made me realize how quickly life can be lost without any warning. Just on Tuesday we were talking about the classes we would be taking in the Spring. Although I have only known Melissa for 4 months I felt like she was a life long friend.

RIP Melissa you will be missed.

I am so sorry for your loss.  I often ask myself the same question, why...  Think of her as a treasure, because that is what friendship is.  God put her in your path for a reason, you may not know why now, but one day you may.  She will be watching you from Heaven, she may even guide you the rest of your journey.

Well said! I have thought about this a lot recently, about how God puts people in our path for a reason. We mourn, I think, because of connections that run so deep. Why are we made this way? We care, we love, we hurt. We are all connected, to each other and to one Creator. Your friend knows all now, and has found whatever peace awaits the soul once life on earth ends. The journey goes on.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you as you mourn. Hope you have been able to find some measure of comfort.

Take care and God bless

Walter

My condolence to you and her family... Well, I believe that everything happens for a reason. You should be happy for her, she's in a better place right now.

it's really inevitable , loosing someone dear to us. we cry, we mourn, we are in total disbelief...

but let us thank God, that once in our lives this special person came and touched our lives.

Ablack, I don't know you and  Melissa, I'll see you (RIP). It is so  hard on the people left behind when death comes; prematurely or whenever. Who is to say it is prematurely. I chose to think of it as a combination of the body can't take any more (illness) and "one's mission on earth is accomplished."

I try to rejoice and celebrate the life of the person, and knowing that  (if they were sick) they're no longer suffering; but I'm not consoled when they're no longer here to make ME happy. That's a bit selfish,, but eventually I realize that they're where they need to be. And it's not with me.
