Posted over 4 years ago I have a huge gripe about Paula Dean. My husband has been recording cooking shows, and I saw her show tonight. Her Thanksgiving menu included but was not limited to: Fried stuffing on a stick, fried pecan glazed turkey, fried bacon mashed potato footballs, fried pumpkin cake.........and later on tonight she's doing fried cranberry fritters. Paula Dean is clogging the arteries of Americans and anybody else on the planet who has satellite with the 'Food Network'. She is systematically giving people heart disease and diabetes. She say's 'yall' so that she doesn't appear noticably evil. Everything she makes either has lard or real butter in it. No wonder America has such a massive rate of these diseases...........and it's either self induced or fed to the kids by the parents on a regular basis. Also, Refridgerator Perry was on...............350# and 6'1", retired NFL player for Chicago I think. He said he was raised 'on this kind of cooking.'. Since she has been purposely trying to kill people she can be classified as a terrorist..........and she brain washes us into salivating like Pavlov's dog when you hear that deep fryer sizzling. We only have one heart, take care of it! Angie |

| Posted over 4 years ago I don't eat very much fried stuff, in fact it's pretty rare for me to whip out the frying pan. But I was raised on "country cooking" and mostly still cook that way. IF you do it right and don't eat enough to feed Patton's Army you'll be ok. But I agree with Angie here...there's WAY too much fried food on Paula Deen's show and that isn't the "real" Southern cooking. Also, deep fried turkey is NASTY! My hubby's folks do that every holiday. I'm the black sheep because I don't eat it, which really ticks his family off. Last year I ended up having deli turkey at Thanksgiving dinner because I couldn't stomach the fried crap |

| Posted over 4 years ago She makes the weirdest stuff. I do agree, she does set a very bad example for the health of many people who try out these hairbrained recipes. They should put a disclaimer on her show, COOKING LIKE THIS COULD BE DANGEROUS TO YOUR HEALTH. I'm from Boston where all we eat is lobster and baked beans LOL does anybody actually cook like this? Today's mighty oak is just yesterday's nut that stood it's ground.

| Posted over 4 years ago I should say does anybody besides Paula, her sons (I saw them once on her show, they're big boys) and Refrigerator Perry actually EAT like this? (When my Mom was sick last year all she watched for 2 weeks was the Food network, I was glad when she recovered, I was ready to throw a sledgehammer through the TV at Rachel Ray.) Today's mighty oak is just yesterday's nut that stood it's ground.

| Posted over 4 years ago I think it's funny that you don't like Rachel Ray. My husband has a not so secret crush on her. LOL I don't know why really maybe the cooking? But I cook for him all the time! Her voice annoys the crap out of me! "Softly. deftly, music shall caress you. Feel it, hear it, secretly possess you...." |

| Posted over 4 years ago URGHHHHH! That voice! Last year my son dated a girl who looked exactly like her, I could never remember her name, we just called her Rachel. Eventually the whole family wanted to do away with Rachel Ray, she was everywhere, Dunkin Donuts commercials, Food Network, regular TV. That poor girl. I think her name was Nicole or something, she never had a chance in this house. So Angie, what should we do about Paula Dean? Should we get Homeland Security involved? LOL Today's mighty oak is just yesterday's nut that stood it's ground.

| Posted over 4 years ago Rachel Ray gets on my nerves really bad............her 30 min meals would cost a fortune. EVOO..........thats the expensive olive oil, I guess.....check the fat grams on that bottle. I guess this is the GOOD fat. My husband is trying to kill me along with the "neely's" from "Down Home with the Neelys". He made blackened catfish last sunday. I started 'wheezing' while he was cooking........apparently it was CAJUN BLACKENED CATFISH'. No problem except I'm allergic to crab meat............his cajun spice had crabs. <loving my emergency stash of prednisone as of last Sunday>. We only have one heart, take care of it! Angie |

| Posted over 4 years ago Dang Angie, that bites! Didn't he realize you're allergic to crab and know it was in what he was cooking? About Rachel Ray, I agree there, too. She's annoying. I don't like most of what she cooks, which is probably a good thing since I'm not made of money. Also, have you guys seen her "gourmet" dog food in the stores? I couldn't believe it! The price is gourmet, too! I had to wonder if this is where her failed recipes ended up, lol. |

| Posted over 4 years ago Well I love the foodnetwork. I watch it all the time. emptpixie it depends what part of the south you're from as far as the type of cooking Paula does. I happen to like Rachel Ray, the one I don't like to listen to much is Sandra Lee...I can't stand the way she talks. If I ever hear super simple again it will be to soon. |

Yup............he KNOWS I'm allergic to crab! He SAID he didn't read the full label on the cajun spice bottle. Uh huh. I'm wondering if he has upped my life insurance. In his defense...........it was small print on the bottle! We only have one heart, take care of it! Angie |

| Posted over 4 years ago ooh that stinks. I LOVE CRAB! I am allergic to shell fish, but I can eat them in small portions, If I eat to much then I start vomiting everywhere. "Softly. deftly, music shall caress you. Feel it, hear it, secretly possess you...." |

| Posted over 4 years ago Hahaha GREAT post!!! But I have so say that I LOVE Paula Deen...in moderation, of course. I wish she was my grandmother. I especially like her holiday specials. I have to agree with dmazement...I can't stand Sandra Lee!! Have you noticed that she always includes some sort of cocktail in her show? I saw a Christmas special she did once, and she decorated her tree with champagne flutes and martini glasses. I am all for a drink now and then, but I don't need a special drink for every homemade meal. A nice glass of wine will do just fine, thank you. |
