A Forensic Pathologist had a class of new students coming through his facility and wanted to make their learning experience one they would not forget.  When he had them all in the autopsy room he spoke to the group saying:

"If you are going to do this job there are two things that you are going to have to remember.  Nothing can surprise you, and nothing can gross you out."

Having said this, the pathologist walked around the exam table, flipped back the sheet and exposed a rather large cow cadaver.  Of course the students weren't going to be working on a human.  The instructor walked to the rear of the cow and inserted a finger into the cow's rectum, withdrew it and, after noting the student's bland looks, proceded to put his finger in his mouth.  The response was immediate.  Most all of the students either gagged, dry heaved, or actively lost their lunch.  Without so much as blinking, and with no mercy, the instructor informed the group that he expected each of them to do just what he had done.  It took some encouragement and a lot of talking and persuading, but the students complied one by one.

"Now," the instructor told the group, "the next thing you need to know about doing this job is that you MUST pay attention.  I placed my middle finger in the cow's rectum, I put my index finger in my mouth."

Now tell me that you aren't going to think of this every time you see someone not paying attention.

 I heard this one before, good reason to pay attention

OH MAN! What a lesson! It really makes a student think!
