Posted 12 months ago I have a deaf son and am passionate about quality care for deaf patients. I am currently working with one of our state reps and hope to be going to Nashville at the first of the year to talk before a committee to "tell my story"

| Posted 12 months ago I worked at the New England Home for the Deaf as an agency Nurse many times. The Deaf Community were strong advocates for each other. I get e-mail all the time from the National Association for the Deaf (of the?) I'm not sure if you are looking for networking or experiences, but from what I have seen, the deaf in New England anyway, are a very vocal (pardon the pun) group and have kind of banded together to make sure that people in their community get their needs met. If you are looking for help, with your preparation, I'm sure you know about Gallaumet University in Washington, DC. It's I think the first if not the only Liberal Arts College in the country where ASL is the official language. You may find info there if you Google it. Hope this has been helpful and you go girl! Today's mighty oak is just yesterday's nut that stood it's ground.
