I recently hurt my foot at work. It was this past Saturday and it wasn't anything specific that I can think of but is was sore throughout the day (I work am shift). By that night it swelled up despite my soaking it in epsom salts and putting my feet up. I called in sick for Sunday and called on Monday to make an incidence report with the ADON. She told me that I had to have filed a report on Saturday. I explained that it wasn't a sudden injury, it gradually got worse. I mean I usually have sore feet when I leave work but this time was different because it swelled. It still doesn't feel right. She basically said I just need to wear support hose and it was too late to file a report. Does anyone have any advice? I don't trust the management at my job, there are alot of people out on medical leave right now and I think they just don't want another claim. Thanx in advance for any advice!

You 72 hours to fill an injury claim. I don't know what state you are in but if they refuse to file it you can contact the state workman's comp office. Go to the E.R. anyway or follow up with your regular dr. but don't let it slide or take to long. I have worked LTC for a long time and they almost always make it impossible to get help after an injury. This is the 3 x I have been hurt and I had to get a lawyer.

Yes girl, Cheri4evr is right. I injured my shoulder in 2005. My shoulder wasn't hurting at all at work, but my hands were hurting me. I got home, woke up the next morning, my hand was numb and my shoulder was swollen. I called in at work, and went to their doctor, the next day. Don't let them trick you. They want you to exceed over the time frame of reporting a accident. It will be like the BUSH V GORE ELECTION!!!!

I am a proud mother of three beautyful daughter. I currently live in Los Angeles California. I've worked as a heathecare provider for almost 10 years. I am curently in school to pursue my MSN in nursing, and wants to work as a pediactric nurse, in public health.

Cheri4ever is right on. Also document everything, everyone who you spoke with, there responses, and witnesses for your own records. Hopefully you went to ER.They usually ask,"was this due to injury at work".

Angie, so many people have un-answered legal questions, and not just about work related issues. Most legal decisions we make come with permanent consequences. When it comes to legal advice, who do we turn to? We really can’t afford an attorney for every given legal situation we face so we get advice from family, friends, and even people we don’t know. Some good advice, some bad, but is it worth the risk? Let me share my story.

Over the last couple of years, my wife Lisa and I have had a number of instances where we knew we were being taken advantage of by either work or services we acquired. We got really fed up and started fighting back. What we realized is, you have to either be a VIP or broke in order to have access to and use the legal system the way we wanted to. We would call law offices, only to be told we should just file this or that issue in small claims court, or “it may just not be worth the fight”. The problem is, as individual consumers and wage earners, we are the small guys. Large companies or employers are the big guys and have legal leverage that would require us to get a quality lawyer to retaliate with. Lisa and I are part of 80% of the population that can’t afford these kinds of lawyers, and even if we could, who has the time to fight everyone who thinks they can take advantage of us.

Some friends of ours shared how they now have access to one of the top attorney firms in the nation for unlimited legal advice on anything, have letters written on their behalf, have their “will and last testament” prepared and updated annually, motor vehicle related benefits, identity theft protection from the world’s leading risk management company, IRS protection service, and more, all for a low monthly fee. Well, my wife an I fall into a category of people who believe if it sounds to good to be true, than usually it is too good to be true. We found out, this is one rare instance that it is really “good” and “true”. We now have better access to the legal system than most celebrities do. We use our membership a lot, and to think what we would have to pay on the outside of this membership just wouldn’t be possible. What we have saved in legal expense is incredible. We can give you more information in further detail if you call us (Chris or Lisa) at 541-343-3892 (Pacific Standard Time).

Hope this helps.
