Posted over 4 years ago I am already a CNA and I am looking to persue a career, ultimately, as an RN/Sonographer. I would just love to hear from someone who actually does this. I would like to ask if you don't mind, how is your salary, what type of work is involved and if it is as enjoyable as i would imagine? Hope to hear from you soon! Thank you! Melissa Rose |

| Posted over 4 years ago Most college's have program's strictly for sonography. A degree in sonography/ultrasound is usually an associate degree or bachelors degree, and it is a different degree altogether from Nursing. Most states require certification required from a degree strictly in sonography, and not nursing. I'm not saying that somewhere, there isn't an RN that also works as a sonographer, but every hospital that I've ever worked for require a degree in ultrasound. |

| Posted over 4 years ago http://www.ardms.org/default.asp?ContentID=63 National Certification Requirements for Ultrasound Tech http://www.slcc.edu/ultrasound/index.asp An example of a certification program in sonography in your home state of Utah... You can also google ARRT, they are starting national certifications in sonography as well. My husband is ARRT (radiography), so I've had some vicarious exposure through him. |
