Posted 11 months ago hi saawariya..is that 20000 per month?Im a filipina nurse and i used to work in riyadh 3 years ago and my salary range is $1000-1200/month with free board and lodging.I was told that my rate would go up up to 5-8x if i would go back there and work as an american RN.so if the salary offered to you is 20,000 then that is too good to be true, check first who is hiring you (MODA pays higher than MOH).good luck, sister!

Posted 11 months ago i think this is too good to be true...$7,000-$10,000 is more realistic if you are an american RN but then again i might be wrong!

this info i got from http://bbayani.proboards56.com/index.cgi?board=mideast&action=p... since you are a newly graduate nurse and in the process of gaining experience, i think you fall into this category. kindly check on this site saawariya for your reference "happiness depends upon ourselves" |

Posted 11 months ago There's not a lot of freedom working in Saudi Arabia, you have to abide their law,if you dont have a husband,a father or a brother (they called them mahram or guardian),you can't just easily go out anytime you want too!and strictly no driving for women!...and you have to cover yourself from the top of your head down to the bottom of your feet...although i noticed that the religious police are not so strict to american females especially in jeddah area. Most american RN's are in the management position and highly respected (same goes to the british and canadian nurses)...the advantage of working there is that your earning is TAX FREE plus you have board and lodging....these are the things you will get in exchange of your freedom

Posted 11 months ago I know nurse that did that. You are basically in a large prison.......If you leave base/confines you are at your own risk, woman have NO RIGHTS there. Your earnings are only tax free if you do not come back into the U.S. for, I think it's 2 weeks every six months. I have a family member that did work for a private company over there (not as a nurse) with the promise of Tax Free, his pay was 175K year, and he had to come home for a month over the summer....and is now paying like 35-40% of it in taxes. He lost the tax exempt status because he was on United States soil a few days too long. The nurse that I knew that did it, felt that it was too dangerous to stay, and that she was risking her life every time something happened. My extensive military knowledge is not limited to just being in line at the commissary, I also have extensive military knowledge of the 'Class Six'.

Posted 10 months ago Well if it is 20,000 a month than I say..... HOLY CRAP! But the more realistic guess of 2,000 a month deos not sound worth it at all. Just my thoughts. "Softly. deftly, music shall caress you. Feel it, hear it, secretly possess you...."
