Maybe not everyone knows what a "troll" is. It is a person who goes onto a site not to participate, but to cause trouble.

We have one here - troll 101, who posts filthy offensive material.

They apparently don't know that such incendiary material is actionable in court, and that any State Police agency, as well as the FBI, can easily determine their server from their email address.

They have already been reported to the site administrators.

By the way, profilers have determined that such people are generally lacking in self esteem, have no satisfying personal relationships, and are so useless to society in their own eyes that hey waste their lives logging in to sites under phony names just to upset people. What a pitiful life this person must have!

Bottom line: they are sad, very unimportant people who get their jollies this way. Pity them!

What is the status? Did NL get rid of this creep yet?

He can be tracked down - if he is a registered offender in violation of probation, he needs to be put away.

Too bad that NL cannot verify information when people sign up here. I saw a post from one staff member stating that they were going to verify that it was a nurse signing up. I think that is an excellent idea. Provide NL with either a license number or proof from the nursing school that one is a student.

I had never heard of such a thing either until lawyerRN explained it to me.  He was the first person I went to when I discovered this filfth.  Thank you very much to all of you who had a roll in deleting the posts and hopefully taking legal action against him/her.

cd, Lisa made a recent apology in "apologies" group.  Perhaps you should read it.  I don't think it is nice to speak of someone as an "infection".  We will not all agree with each other, expecially when it comes to politics and religion. Why does that make someone an "infection?" You never know, you may actually like the person you disagree with here on nursing link if you knew them "offline."  I personally was greatly offended by your comments about Rednecks a few months ago.  Does that give me a reason to call you names in open forums?  I'll answer my own question, NO!

Hi guys!

I've been off (NL) for a bit and missed the excitement I guess.  But the reason I haven't been on the site is because my computer got fried.  Don't know if this has anything to do with anything, but, my comuter got massively infected the other day after I got aff the link, and fried my hard drive!    I actually think it happened through YouTube, but be careful.  Maybe NL could do some some sort of security update for those of us who have stuff on the site.  I personally, am going to edit my profile.  In case it happens again.

Our last computer crashed because we had some sort of Trogan Horse Virus that we would sweep the computer and it just kept coming back until it finally stopped working. I'm not so savy either, but with my recent crash and the troll, possibly looking for info.  I guess I'm a little paranoid.  I found that I can't edit some of the things I'd like.  I sent a message to Editor. I feel like maybe I don't want my city up there with my real name, you know?  I'd rather just have a first name and a state, but can't do it.  Why is it that some nut job can post false info and you can't edit your own?

Calling someone an 'infection' is kind of hateful too.  Everybody is different and everybody has a right to speak their mind.  Maybe you could show some goodwill and apologize to Lisa42 'associating her' with an infection.  That's just mean.

mg, his/her profile was a disgrace.  you would have been highly offended.  it was filled with racial slurs and overtones of violence, such a stomping and so on.  i'm glad he/she is gone.....
