Posted over 5 years ago Has anyone on here taken their prereqs online? If so, from which university did you take it, and how long did it take? Any info on this would be appreciated. Thank you! |

| Posted over 5 years ago You have to go to a community college. They have some of the nursing preriquisites online. I think you have to take your nursing science classes, in a classroom setting, because of the Labs. I know in some other states beside California, has the Regent Program which is Excesior Home Study Nursing Courses, for the RN Program. They allow you to take your Prerequisites in a home study curriculum. Check it out!!. GOOD LUCK!!!!! I am a proud mother of three beautyful daughter. I currently live in Los Angeles California. I've worked as a heathecare provider for almost 10 years. I am curently in school to pursue my MSN in nursing, and wants to work as a pediactric nurse, in public health. |

| Posted over 5 years ago I am currently taking nursing Pre- Reqs at a community college that offers distant learning as well. So far I have been able to take Anatomy-Phys. and 2 others as a telecourse. It has worked for me since it is flexible. Although, Next semester I will have to take Chem at the college because of the lab, have not seen it given as an online or telecourse. I'll check out the link posted! |

They also tend to have the quiz/exam times during the evenings since they know that students who are taking these types of courses are in need of flexibility. I'd suggest you look into a similar arrangement at your school, or maybe the local community college ( since they tend to be more flexible and less expensive). Good luck! |

I am now registered for Microbiology for Spring '08. It is a lot of home work but it is much easier than trying to find time to attend class & better that listening to a boring lecture. I took courses only with Cayuga CC but they have several other schools within the network to choose from. Good Luck & all the best! |

| Posted about 5 years ago Personally, I don't really recommend online classes... there's not a lot of interaction with other students, or professors. I'm currently taking an online psychology class for a prereq and I hatehatehate it! |

| Posted about 5 years ago Although the on-line class are good for anyone crunched on time, make sure to check with the nursing school that you want to go to, that they will accept on-line classes. I know some of the nursing schools I looked into would not take any on-line classes, other would only allow certain classes on-line. Just check since any pre-req is a real investment of both time and money. |
