how do i choose??

Posted over 4 years ago hello. my name is aimee and i am currently a senior in high school. if i am doing this wrong then please let me know. i want to be a nurse with babies. have thought about being a NICN but im afraid that with my soft heart i won't be able to follow through with it.i also have consitered being a nurse mid-wife or possilby OB/GYN. i love babies and want to help as much as i possilbe can but im not sure how to choose. is there anything that can help me with my decision?? thanks for your help in advance and sorry if i'm doing this wrong. ~Fireman's_Girl~ |

| Posted over 4 years ago Hi aimee! When I actually started nursing school, I didn't know what area to choose from. But when we had our clinical rotations in various areas I was able to determine which specialty or area I'm most inclined to, which is becoming an O.R. nurse. Between NICN and nurse mid-wife, you don't have to make a decision now. You can do that after you are able to have a first hand experience in NICU and OB ward. So, you'll be able too learn the area you're most compassionate about. But if you're leading toward OB/GYN, I suggest you weigh circumstances. Which area would you be more happier? What could be more fulfilling for you? You can ask yourself several questions and hopefully get to an answer. Good luck with your schooling! I wish you all the best! |
