Nursing students that cheat

Posted over 4 years ago What do you think of a nursing student who cheats to get through school? Would you like to have them for a nurse? Big problem in my nursing school. We have students that cheat on every test and quiz. They talk and look at each others tests to see what the correct answer is. So is it fair for them to pass while other students who are honest dont pass? |

| Posted over 4 years ago Reporting cheaters is probably difficult: whistle-blowers are liable to denigrate themselves, feeling as if they're betraying their peers. But there's a bigger picture to consider: the cheaters are also entrusted with patient care during clinicals. Their work in the classroom demonstrates they can't handle the job. The cheaters are the ones who have betrayed a trust, anonymous. They've eliminated themselves. Report them. You'll be doing their potential victims a favor. Moreover, you're right: it's not fair to you or your peers that the cheaters continue passing exams while others pass or fail legitimately. --lunarcaustic

| Posted over 4 years ago I haven't seen any cheaters in my school. If I did I'm not sure what I would do. My opinion, they are creeps and they should be ashamed. Maybe the instructors need to be more observant!! Many students study their asses off to make it through the semesters. These lazy asses should do the same or else DROP out. I wouldn't want them as my nurse. What are they retaining??!! *samantha* (sap) |

| Posted over 4 years ago The teachers do know about the cheaters. They say they cant do anything about it because the administration in the school doesnt want them to. The administration says it would be the teachers word against the students word. I think it is crazy and if you are caught cheating you should have the test score taken away and be thrown out of the program. We have had several students complain to the teachers about what is happening. I guess there is nothing they can do about it. |

| Posted over 4 years ago So the administration knows that cheating is going on? That stinks. You cant cheat on the nclex. When I took it they even take your picture and your picture is mailed to you when you get your results <my kids laughed at my pic and kept asking me why I looked like a goob>. When a class that has graduated and they take the nclex...............the results go to the state board. If there is an unsatisfactory blemish on the school if a huge number of people fail.............the school will get reamed. Basically, for the school to get reamed though ALOT of people have to fail. The school is notified of every failure immediately too from what I understand. Dont despair...................what goes around might just come around! |

| Posted over 4 years ago Nursing students who cheat should not be nurses! They could make a very serious error. You could report them but if the school already knows who they are, that won't help so just wait until they take the boards! They won't pass. |

| Posted over 4 years ago I really hate people who cheat....yes I think you should report them if you come across one, its not fair for them to breeze throught school because they didnt want to study like the rest of us. what are you going to do after you graduate, when you cant look over your shoulder for quick answers? how are you going to cheat your way through the real world? Reporting someone is hard but if you dont like what your seeing, you have to do it. HA

| Posted about 4 years ago I went to nsg school with a girl whos mom was an instructor. Hmmmm. She bragged in the beginning about how someone took the entrance exam for her. She learned quickly it wasn't something to brag about. Anyways she did graduate and come to find out she had someone pose as her to take the nclex. Her mother got her a job at the same hospital as well. I think they both ended up in hot water. It took a while but I believe you reap what you sow. Beware of imposters. |

| Posted about 4 years ago Well I think you should go to the nursing board of your state or whatever regulatory commission exists where you live or go to school. If the school itself won't do anything about it I bet they will. Also, I would be looking for another nsg school to transfer to. Do you really want to go down with the ship when they go under? ~emtpixie |

| Posted about 4 years ago I see it in my program all the time, and it used to really get to me. They are only fooling and cheating themselves. There are always people looking for the easy way out, that is just part of life. Hang in there and try not to let it get to you, karmas a real b*tch and what goes around comes around. |
