How are clinicals?

Posted over 4 years ago I have FINALLY gotten accepted into the ADN Pgm (Fall 2010) and I wanted to know what clinicals are like. I have read many different things. Are there multiple locations that I would have to go to for each course that has clinicals? I was looking at my courses/clinicals and saw many hospital locations listed and was just wondering if I will have to go to ALL of them? I am definitely ready for all challenges and do know that I have alot of work cut out for me. Thanks for any info that any of you can provide. I am just so anxious about starting!! Yolanda

| Posted over 4 years ago Congrats on getting accepted!!! Now, the real fun begins!! I can only speak from my experiences. In my first semester I had clinical at a local hospital on the med surge floor every friday for the whole semester from 0630-1330. I started out just doing basic ADL's then advanced to injections, giving meds, and wound care. Basically, as I learned in lab I put it to use in clinical. We are put on a rotation so we don't get to go to every clinical site. Next semester I will be put on a 5 week rotation between L/D and pedi and that includes two clinical sites but not the same week. When one clinical ends then I move on to the next one. But to answer your question... no you should not have to go to all the clinical sites. Good luck and don't hesitate to ask if you need help!! |
