I have my BA in Psychology and have been medication certified, CPR, and First Aid Certified all of which have now expired I am sure.  What else would I need to become a CNA I at least want to get my foot in the door to pursue nursing.

All you need is a local school to take the class at, some patience, and a strong stomach. I would go ahead and get my CPR and First Aid renewed. The medication certification would be a bonus because you would be paid more for having it, however, you are not required to have it(at least not in NC). We need good CNAs and your Psychology degree will come in handy. My Associate in Psychology has been a good help to me. Call the local community college or wherever you're going to take it at and ask the instructor what you may need. But to my knowledge, that is all you need. Good luck!!
