I have my LPN license from Canada, I have a green card. Where do I begin to figure out how to get licensed here in the state of Texas, can any one help me?

Your local board of nursing is always a great place to start. Here's the link to the TX BON:

I would also suggest contacting potential employers (nursing homes, hospitals, etc.) and searching our job postings in the CAREERS section. Because of the shortage, a lot of employers will help you through the process if it means you will work for them.

You can go through a recruiter, they can set you up to be able to write the LPN-NCLEX exam...or whatever exam the US LPNs need for licensure, you'll have to show proof of your LPN courses (transcript)... I have 2 friends who are RNs and they did it last year.
