My first job out of college 26 yrs ago was in L & D.  A man brought his wife in who was close to delivery as soon as we got there.  We were hustling around getting an I.V. started, getting her up in stirrups, etc., when her husband flashed a baggie in front of my eyes and said, "Here's her mucous plug."  What could I say, but "thanks," and throw it in the trash.  Poor guy.  That was the first of many stories.  My daughter tells me I should write a book on all of the funny things that have happened over the years.
