Posted over 4 years ago Just wondering what everyones GPAs were/ or is before you got into the nursing program, I want to know what the competition will be like when I apply. I had a 3.6 and I got my transcript a couple of days ago to find out it dropped to a 3.0 (I know embarasing) |

| Posted over 4 years ago I had a 3.4 but in nursing school I got a 3.9. Should have been a 4.0 but i thought better not argue with my instuctor about it cause it didn't matter anymore. |

| Posted over 4 years ago I currently have a 3.5, but my school does not consider a GPA, they look at grades for only four courses: PSY 101, ENG 111, ANP 101 & 102. You MUST have an A in all four of these courses to be considered for the program. Plus they consider your score on the TEAS. So all my hard work in all these other courses....seems like I worked hard for nothing! |

| Posted over 4 years ago I had a 3.8 before starting the nursing program. I got two "C's" out of nine nursing classes, with "B's", in all the rest. I finished with a 3.33 GPA. They did look at GPA where I went to school. |

| Posted over 4 years ago Before entering the nursing program my GPA was 3.95 and then declined once I started my SECOND year of the program. I found this year much harder than the first. This past semester I got a C+....a little sad to me, but hey, I think the "C" is the new "A". I'm hoping to get a "B" this semester which is my last, God willing. Now matter what I get, I'm just proud of myself. Nursing isn't easy. |

| Posted over 4 years ago I had a 3.8 or something prior to starting nursing school. I have gotten B's every semester this is my last semester but I don't care if I do get a C. We have always been taught in nursing schoool the C=RN.
Good Luck everyone! |

| Posted over 4 years ago FOCUS ON YOUR PERSONAL BEST. Please don't be one of those. If you find it necessary (sp? I hate that word!) take it over. No biggie. I had a high GPA but some of my classmates did not. Also, some of us were accepted without micro while others had to have all of the pre-reqs done. The pool changes every semester. Don't compare yourself to others b/c you have no idea what the difference was in terms of instructors etc. BTW, I graduated with my high GPA and believe me when I tell you I was not the best nurse---still not the best. I had classmates who had to repeat med/surg and they are better nurses than I. I'm good at taking tests. Doesn't mean anything in real life. |

| Posted over 4 years ago I had a 1.2 before, but after entering the program....I got a brain fart and still have it. Luckily, the instructors never noticed me and I skated on through. That lady at the nclex place was harder to fool. Took $100 and my Best Buy gift certificate I got for my birthday that year and I had to do her laundry for 5 years. |

What? Did you say you PASSED the nclex by doing her laundry? Please tell me I misunderstood! |

| Posted over 4 years ago Don't beat yourself up over that GPA, the hospital that hires you does not care about your GPA. Remember "C" means continue. |

| Posted over 4 years ago I had a 3.75 going in and ended with a 3.1. Being an LPN made the instructors grade me harder in clinicals(which is subjective). I only made one A in my clinicals during nursing school. I had that teacher pin me, cause I felt she was my only fair clinical instructor. |

| Posted over 4 years ago When I got accepted to nursing school I had a 3.9 but i had completed all other classes i need. I finished nursing school wth a 3.45. Just remember once you get into nursing school, do not stress yourself out if you don't get the grades you were getting. A C equals RN. |
