Posted over 4 years ago Is it possible to be an LVN and find a job in trauma or helicopter transport ? Or, which schools offer training in the Bay Area ? |

Posted over 4 years ago Someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but here goes. One must be an RN to do either trauma or life flight nursing. Due to insurance, liability and scope of practice.

Posted over 4 years ago Thanks. I figured. I do want to get my RN also, but with a family , its hard to find the time. Eventually I will finish.

Posted over 4 years ago I concur...no LPN's in these positions here.

Posted over 4 years ago Mostly it's scope of practice.... LPNs are great, but as an RN in the field you can do almost anything with radio support from the ER physician. Hospitals and State Police flight crews don't want anyone whose functions are restricted by law, no matter how caring or competent.
