Custom Scrubs?

Posted over 4 years ago Does anyone know where I can buy custom made scrubs? Off-the-shelf scrubs don't fit me well, and I am having a tough time finding a place to get them that does a good job. Price is not a consideration. Any ideas? |

| Posted over 4 years ago Do you sew or know someone who you can beg to do it? If so then head down to your local fabric store (or some Wal-Mart stores) and find a pattern you like for scrubs. I know Simplicity has one. That way you can tailor it to fit. Added benefit: you can choose the colors and designs that you like. Hope it helps! |

| Posted about 4 years ago You can order online. Try the custom nursing scrubs here. They accept made to order. Unsolicited events encumbered the profession that I've always loved. Recently accepted home-based work for http://www.pulseuniform.com to reconnect with the industry. |

| Posted almost 4 years ago well what are your issues with them? Because there are some that you can buy that are tailored to fit better but aren't custom. And you should try the ones that have the draw strings on the tops. No, I don't sew more than a button or hem, or the ocassional seam repair. My Mom sews, but it would take forever to get them done, and I hate to ask her to do them. I have looked for local seamstresses, to no avail. |

First, as a male, we really don't have the choices that you ladies do when it comes to available style. I am a short, stocky fellow, that is between standard sizes. Mediums are too small, and large's are too big except in the waist and shoulders. I look like someone wearing my big-brother's hand-me-downs in those, and I am extremely particular with my professional appearance. I like snap, button, or zipper down 3-pocket v-neck tops w/o collars with pen pockets on the left sleeve. I like cargo pants w/o velcro or straps, preferably with a zipper and beltloops instead of a drawstring. And I like all of the above to fit properly. Trust me, getting my "likes" is not easy. There was a place in WV that sewed these up for me at one time, but they have gone out of business; and my current wardrobe is at its end of service life. |

Well that's not a problem. If you would like I can help you with that. My aunt has sewn me some beautiful scrubs that fit awesome and has decided to sew them as a little side business. If you would like some just let me know, all we need are your measurements (we're discreet, I promise!) and what fabric/color/pattern you would like. I can give you a price once that's all decided. She isn't expensive, some of me friends have had her sew some for them and have told me that they expected much higher prices. |

| Posted almost 4 years ago Clee... have you tried buying the larger size and then getting them adjusted. That may be cheaper... |

| Posted almost 4 years ago Have you checked with other nurses. I know there are nurse aides in our hospital who make extra money maing scrubs. They have you buy the material you want and make them for you. The best way to get what you want is to sew them. I make my own because they are so expensive and that way I can have the holiday scrubs without the high price. It's really not that hard to make them. Get one of the simple patterns and if someone you know sews and they can show you how to make one then your on your way. Our service to others is the rent we pay while here on earth!! |

| Posted over 1 year ago There is a site called TailorMed Scrubs that is really great. They let you select the style, color, sizing, and even specific pockets. I just bought a pair about a month ago, and have really loved the comments people have given me. They are a little more expensive, but well worth it if you have to wear scrubs everyday like I do. The fabric is very soft, and has lasted well considering the beating I give them. |
