Posted over 4 years ago I can work while going to school where I live, as long as my work hours don't interfere with my school hours. I am expected to attend class, keep up with all the studies, and be available to attend clinicals. If I can do all that while I work, and achieve high enough grades to pass the course, there isn't a problem. If I let work interfere with those things, I might as well save the time and money I am spending on school and just work.

Posted over 4 years ago What is "this program?" If it's a nursing school for RNs, it's very difficult to work full time - I tried it. You can do it but will be very stressed out all the time. Plus scheduling is nearly impossible. But lots of people work part time while going to nursing school.

Posted over 4 years ago Ok well.... even in "LPN" school it was very difficult, and stressfull. But if it has to be done it can be done. I went to school 5 days a week, 8 hrs a day and worked 6 days a week with broken up hours to reach almost full time. 36 hrs a week to be exact. Tough, very tough. But I graduated with a 3.9, and perfect attendance. It was the only way for me to be a supportive member of the family and still reach a goal. The only thing I regret was with full time work school and studying I missed out on a lot of time with my baby girl. She will forever be daddys girl.

Posted about 4 years ago I don't think that I could have ever done it! But I was a single parent with two kids under three when I started. Plenty of my friends in school managed to do it though and still get good grades. Good luck!

Posted about 4 years ago I worked full time (40+ hours a week) while I was in the ADN program and I finished with a 3.7 GPA. I had a 10 yr old and a 12 yr old at home and my husband worked out of town. I had the support of a strong family (in-laws) and I still have a great relationship with my kids. They seen how hard I worked to get where I am today and they respect what I do. It can be done.
