Hello to all, I was wondering if anyone out there is having trouble finding a job. I graduated in Dec. 07 and got hire at a local hospital as a GN. I was on orientation for about 3months. I finally went to take the nclex but i failed it. I took a position as a reserved nurses aid and lucky for me I was given 32-40 hrs a week. I took the nclex again in Novenber and this time I passed. My manager gave away my position as a GN/RN a month before I passed. So i was told I had to find another RN position in the hospital. I finished out my schedule as a nurses aid for the month of Dec. so she wouldn't be in a bind and also because some work is better then no work. I am now being told that they are in a hiring freeze. So i've been appling to all the other hospitals with no luck. Is there a national freeze in hiring new nurses or what's going on? How hard is it for someone to give someone else a bad reputation? I am just wondering because one of the nursing faculty members at my nursing school is my soon to be ex-wife. We are going through a very bad divorce and i was just wondering if anyone thinks it is possible for her to give me a bad name in this small valley I live in. There is 4 major hospitals here so it isn't that small but yet small enough. HELP ANYONE
