Hi brillinant99. My names is Cuttie welcome. I am also pursueing my ADN in nursing too. I am waiting for a response to take my nursing entrance test. To answer your question, a ADN is a Associaite Degree In Nursing. You can receive it at a 2 year Community College Nursing Program. The BSN is only obtainiable at a 4-year University Nursing Program, after completion you can enroll in a MSN Nursing Program or go straight to the MSN, which is a Masters Science of Nursing Degree. You can find other important information on this link, by going under Education. GOOD LUCK!!!!

I am a proud mother of three beautyful daughter. I currently live in Los Angeles California. I've worked as a heathecare provider for almost 10 years. I am curently in school to pursue my MSN in nursing, and wants to work as a pediactric nurse, in public health.

Many states do not accept a degree from Exelsior.. look into which states do BEFORE you decide where you want to go.

Do you want to be a physician in the USA? I am not sure what needs to be done for that there, in Canada though, you would need to pass the Canadian Boards (licence exam and complete a residency again, or at least part of one...). It might be the same in the USA.
I would suggest contacting the state you wish to be a nurse in and find out what you would need to do to become a nurse.... there may be an easier way.
Good Luck!

Where are you from that you would be a doctor at the age of 26?

It's very possible to be an MD at age 26... you can finish med school itslef by age 22-23 and finish residency in family med in in 2-3 yrs. I have friends in Europe who were MD's by age 25! The education system is different, they learn more in high school than in the US and Canada (where I am from). Where I am for example, you can finish high at age 16-17, do 2 yrs pre-university (CEGEP) by age 18, med school is 5 yrs if you get in right after pre-u (1 yr of pre-med, and 4 yrs of med school).. so at 23 you have your MD and a family med res is only 2 yrs, so you could be done quick!

I took 2 exams in the way to be a licensed physician in the USA, but taking the third exam and preparing to apply for residency as doing trainings and sharing in research in addition to process of applying for the residencies and taking the interviews and flights and hotels...all will cost me alotttt of money and will take time..
so i thought of being RN so i will still be workingi n the medical field and i will be more used to the American medical system and also make money that I will need ,to proceed with my medical career..
the problem now is that Excelsior staff think that I will need to pass 14 exams and this will take alot of time and money too..
I am still trying to find a better way..

I think since you are already a doctor, you should definitely look into what you need to do to continue your MD profession here....unless you can become a nurse right away with no training...then I see your need to work in the medical field while you pursue an American MD. Hopefully you can take the tests and proceed as you wish quickly, without having to work as anything but an MD. Good luck
