Posted over 4 years ago There are a few ADN programs left out there. They are also traditional BSN programs that will give you credits for that time worked. All in all you probably have at least 2 years of schooling to get you to an RN degree. If you are not planning on moving check out all your local and somewhat local colleges/universities/trade schools.

Posted over 4 years ago Most schools in our area don't really care about how long you've been in a certain job class. Most require you to be a PCT or equivalent before applying for the program. You either are or you aren't. There is no bridge from CNA to RN.

Posted over 4 years ago There is no short cut, from CNA to RN you are looking a long road, what I would reccommend is that you look into the LPN program which with your expereince would be easier to navigate, then after finishing that program you can bridge from LPN to Associate degree RN. I would then consider taking on line coureses if you want to presue the BSN. I followed this route becasue I was a single parent and culd not afford to stop working to go to a four year BSN program. I was a CNA in 1991, LPN in 1993, RN in 1995 I was able to work , support my family and fulfill a dream at the same time, by taking the smaller steps I also gave my self a raise everytime I reached a new milestone. Let me add that I went back to school (online) and recieved my BSN in 2005. If it is what you really want go for it and don't let anyone or anything stop you. Good Luck rattlers2008
