Posted about 4 years ago Hello everybody, I'm a nursing student at a city college in chicago....I'm letting everybody know that I have recently spoken to my instructor who knows Ms Morrison (creator of hesi) and we are planning on fighting this HESI. We are all tired of the abuse and the way HESI is being used. It's terrible how many students have fail HESI and ended up reapting the whole 2nd yr of nursing again!!! Many students have struggle and sacrifice their time and money. Also, what right does schoolhave to deny you from progressing and denying you of income especially now during these terrible economic times. Also, why is it that different schools lhave different scores to pass. I need an 870 to graduate why is it that another school needs 850 and another school uses HESI to identify your strengths and weakness. We are trying to take action....we are saying enough is enough! I have made so much sacrifce, I'm a single mom with 2 children and it's unfair if I fail I lose everything. No job, no income, nothing. My children miss me because I'm always studying at the library or doing a 8 or 12 hr clinical rotation. Most of the time I'm exhausted. I am here trying to better myself and for my children. This is why we are taking action now. We are trying to meet with the board on April 2 or the 9, 2009(not sure of the exact date but they do meet on the first thursday of every month) I'll keep everybody posted on the date because I need to double check on the date just to make sure. I need all future nursing student, current nursing students, and nursing graduates who have gone through this or will go through this in the future to come together and fight. Please, I'm asking anybody who like to takeaction please stand next to me and my instructor on April. We need to come together and we need to do it soon before it's to late. It's unfair....action must be taken. I hope to hear your respond my fellow nurses and future nurses. Please respond soon we have about 30 days to get together and prepare.

| Posted about 4 years ago Hi, I understand that hesi is stressful, but it's necessary for some schools so they don't get written up if their graduates have less than 70% pass on nclex. Yes, the school chooses weather or not to have the hesi. It helps them weed out canidates that they think might fail the nclex. The board has no say in hesi. Where I graduated they had hesi too. I stressed all yr, cause I went 17 1/2 mths to school, drove over an hr to get to school 3 days a wk, and have two kids, and started when my son was like 2 mths old. It's stressfull but u can do it. By the way, I personally felt that the hesi was easier then the nclex. The nclex was so different, and for more then half the test I was like "I don't know this" , but I passed! Ok later |
