Obama hasn't been in office as our president but a few weeks and the money that's being spent is outrageous.  I 'hear' that taxes will be bad and that we cant deduct things like we have been.   We are so upset about the CEO's of the Wall Street Bailouts.  It seems like one bad thing after another.   There's also political scandals up the wazoo.   My 401k, like everybody's dropped so fast...........I dont even call the automated line to check the balance.      I worked late tonight and had this crotchety old geezer nobody liked ..........it was my turn with him, lol.  Right before shift change, I went to see if there was anything else he needed.  He was watching the news and yelling obscenities..........I went 'shhhhhhhhhh, not so loud.  Why dont you change the channel, maybe a good movie is on'.   He said, NO......................I gotta get out of here and I gotta go see my broker".   You know those patients who wont let you leave their room, you speak a little to them so they'll feel better about verbal company even just for a minute..........then anyhow, not to do the big boring story about his balls burning, he said now is a great time to buy stocks.   That crotchety dude is wealthy, made wealth playing the stockmarket.    I asked him if had losses in the last few monthes...........he  did.  But he did say that when he made money on a certain stock, he sold it and did money markets, and put money on his farm.     He also said 'Treat your stocks like a fling with a woman, dont fall in love with it'.   I guess that means dont hold on to it too long?  Dump it before it loses value?  I guess.  Anyhow, it sounded kind of interesting.   I try to squirrel a little bit of money biweekly.   Maybe the geezer is right.................he's 92 yrs old and is in good shape except for a broken hip he received on his farm and doesn't have a high school diploma, but got his ged in the 80's for his grandkids.

Jennifer Anniston spent thousands on her hair for that movie she did recently, $50, 000.  She did her part for the economy, I guess.  Maybe buying a little stock will help if enough people did it..........couldnt hurt.   Use that $13 Id buy on pepsi and bread for my stash!  Just a thought.

We all need to buy stock in McDonalds, and the gun/bullet industry.   I heard that bullets are on back order, and the manufactuers can't keep enough in stock.

WOW!!!!  I am going to assume that you had not looked at your 401 or stocks till after Obama got in office??  He has been there less than 100 days!!!!!!  This recession and loss of money started way before Obama.  I check my stocks DAILY and i can assure you that they started dropping LONG before OBAMA got in office.

At some point the man who preached 'change' is either going to have to own it, or change it.  The Dow had the largest drop in the month of February since 1930.  Everytime Obama goes on the TV the dow goes down, that is a fact.

Obama's rhetoric is not new....not change....not hope.....(as Rush Limbaugh so eloquently stated)  Obama makes me physically sick, as does his wife.  I cannot wait until the day he can be voted out of office!

If the Dow had any faith, then it would not be rollercoasting as it is now. I know today it went down. Part of the problem is when the government started saying "bail-out!" alot of investors stopped spending . They were waiting to see who was going to get the stimulus money. Everytime some company is crying that they need help, the taxpayers seem to be the ones paying for their greed and failures.

Its like a big crutch. The lame will never learn to walk this way. I had to go bankrupt in 19196. I was a single divorced mother whose ex was not paying child support to. As a result I had to live off my credit cards to survive. There was no-one to hand me a check and say bail-out. I had to admit my failure(which was relly hard) and go on. I to this day have no credit to my name. I don't care, b/c it forces me to live within my means.

I try to live within my means. We don't buy anything we dont have cash for upfront except for the car and my student loans. We scrimp and save if we want to make any other big purchases.

But to get to the other points made. I can't believe you are blaming the DOW dropping on the president. For all the hatred people seem to have for him you sure are giving him a lot of power! Get real, like everything wrong is his fault? What??!?!? The DOW was at historic lows befeore election day people! And it is all together Un American to actually hope for the failure of your president. Shame.

Hmmm, presidential policies and appointments do influence the dow.   Historical records show that.  As far as wanting the president to fail?   I want the bill putting our grandkids trillions and trillions in debt to fail in that it doesn't go through.   He can't even pick an educated cabinet that's smart enough to pay their own taxes.  I know people with an IQ of 80, yet they know that they have to pay income tax.  Who in the hell wants to penazlize someone for giving money to charity, in that they want to tax it?  That's crazy.  Does he want the churches and charities to lose donations?   I'm glad his pending policy of making soldiers pay for their own healthcare 'failed to go through'.   How is planning on paying for or improving the healthcare system, if he's suggesting that the budget hurts enough to take it away from soldiers?

No, I think Dick Morris summed it up perfectly, He really is a socialist, just not a really smart socialist.  Even my co-workers who voted for him, said to me the other day "I wouldn't have voted for him, If I'd have known he was going to try and do all this."

People feel that way about every president voted in, cars they bought homes they bought etc. etc. etc. it's called buyers remorse and people always think about what would have happened if we had gone with the other choice. Well it's to late for that. He is here, trying to make things better. I am sure Bush supporters didn't agree with all the stuff he wanted to do. You wont eve find anyone you agree with completly. Yes I think Veterans paying for healthcare was a bad idea.  I think he is trying to fix things. and I think if he is just given the chance you might actually see things change for the better.

As far as the dow. I in no way will believe it was the presidents fault. It was the faalure of banks. forclosures of homes and the credit crisis surrounding us now that brought it down. Bush was president for all that.

The Democratic congress was the reason for the housing bubble. But, you know what? Enough blame. I'm sick of all of the politicians! They say what you want to hear to get elected, then do what the hell they want once they get in office. I say they ALL need to go! We the people remember? We do have the power to not vote for them come election day. Congressional elections are up in 2010. I may just become a libertarian. I guess thew best we can do is show strength in numbers.

I went to the "tea party" in Houston yesterday. 5-7000 people showed up. People are tired of being hoodwinked and robbed. Obama is only progressing what was already a dangerous precedent set by Bush. He is determined to make us a socilist state. He doesn't seem to have much love for this country. I mean, to call us arrogant to Europe? Really? You dam right I'm arrogant, oh , and Christian too. Last I checked this country was founded on Christian pricipals. God is in charge, not the Govermnment.

I'm sick of negative people.   Being negative is infective and consumes people who need to have their spirits lifted.   My views on Barney Frank and Senstor Dodd and Nancy Pelosy <pttoey> havent changed.   That  being said about those crap weasels, yesterday  I checked my 401k, its up a smidgeon than it was last month........I am changing to an acct with Fidelity and the paperwork is in the works.   For people who want to use their noggin, this could  be the best time in our  lifetime  to buy stocks.   I'm not a big gun, but my little bucks that I chose to use the amount of cash I'd spend on shoes, the tip from the crotchety old fart..........tripled.   Now I wish I put in enough for a few pair of shoes.  I could have afforded to lose that amount of money I would have used on shoes......less than $100.  By the way, my  dog <Fred> ate my $95 pair of Merrils I got in Feb.  I should have gone to Pay Less.
