| Posted 8 months ago 1. It depends on your State, and what each position is allowed to do. I don't know what medical assistants do out there. 2. In general, CNA or nurse aide courses are not difficult. You have to study and pay attention, and be able to perform the skills, but anyone with a high school education should easily pass. 3. Yes, CNA's do some very "dirty" work sometimes, but it can be rewarding too! You have to think about whether you can do that sort of thing. Some people cannot. Others get used to it, and others don't mind. Good luck! |

| Posted 8 months ago I am a CNA in Michigan. I also wasn't sure I could do the CNA work it is a hard physically demanding job at least in the nursing homes here that is all I have worked. I just got my license last August. I decided to take a break from the nursing home jobs and try to be a home health aide I like the one on one care where in a nursing home you don't have that luxury. I have also thought about looking into Medical assisting but, not sure what I want to do my original goal was to be a nurse at first I was thinking LPN but, now I am hearing RN is the road to go but, I am not sure if I have it in me either. It is hard to know what direction to go but, as for the CNA class itself being hard no I don't agree I thought it was relatively easy though I was afraid I would pass the CNA state exam. But I did
Good Luck!

| Posted 5 months ago From what I've heard in my experience, I have heard being a medical assistant can truly pay off in the long run. Both jobs require you to work hard and to be exceptionally good at what you to advance. One other advantage to being a medical assistant is that it doesn't require as much time and energy on the education side. Some schools even have programs where you can get the MA training within 6 months, and the low costs and low amount of time needed makes it attractive for some people. Here is an example of a Medical Assistant training program that you can look into. lupe fiasco .. too good |

| Posted 5 months ago I am a Medical Assistant turned RN. Med. Asst's draw blood, give shots, assist doctors with procedures, etc. Pretty much anything goes. If the doctors or other staff want to teach your something so you can perform it in your daily work then it is okay because you are working under the doctor's license. They make sure you know what you are doing and actually learn new things. They encourage learning and more education. |

Feel free to keep me informed as I am in the inbetween stage not sure which way to go as well.
