Sometimes the snot noses get what they deserve without you putting forth any effort at all. Have you ever got to say “Gotcha!” even if you could not say it out loud? When I was working as an LPN in a nursing home. One of my many tube feeders had an order for docusate (stool softener) If you have ever tried to prick open one of these suckers with a lancet and squeeze it you know how tough this can be. I called the doc to see if he would give me an order for anything that was liquid. He then put me on his speaker phone and berated my nursing skills and proceeded to “Teach” me how to get an Alzheimer’s patient to take medicine. He then very haughtily said I will be over there in a few minutes to make rounds and I will show you how this is done. It was all I could do to not laugh. I knew what he was doing and who was in the room with him when he put me on the speaker phone. You should have seen the looks on the med student’s faces when he went in that room with me. HAAAA. HAAA Still makes me laugh! He apologized all over the place to me. I hope his med students learned the real lesson that day. Like I said in another topic I started: If the nurse ain’t happy, ain’t nobody happy!
