California Board nightmare!

Posted over 4 years ago Hello everybody!! Hope you all having a nice day. I'm very confused with the California Board of Nursing; currently I'm applying to take the NCLEXRN, but things are not working as I thought they would. First of all, it takes forever for them to received my documents even when I send them via certified mail and all that. I started the whole process last year, October 14, supposely my transcript never arrived. I re-send my transcript a few times, thru my school of course; and finally they send me notice that they got it March 4. The bad news is that for them the transcript from my university does not reflect completion of a pychology course. I did take a mental health class for nursing, and it say so on my transcript, but I guess for then it does not count. I tried getting in touch with my evaluator on the California Board of Nursing, but she is never in, I have left numerous messages, but cannot get in touch with her. The letter says that I have to addressed this problem in order to be part of their board (obviously) and that I have one year from the date of the letter to do so. My question is, what kind of psychology class do you take in the states? is it a basic psychology class without a focus on nursing? how many classes? I'm willing to take the class, I really don't mind, but I'm not sure what they are referring to. Please help!! I'm at my wits end. I'll appreciate any information you can give. Thank you! |

| Posted over 4 years ago it's psychology 1, you can take it from any community colleges, it sort of like a pre requisite, basic. maybe the mental health nursing that you took was credited as a part of psychiatric nursing, which is needed for the curriculum of registered nurse. |

| Posted over 4 years ago I know how you feel. My friend is a staffer, is having that same problem, she has completed her LVN, but the state of nursing in California, is having problems with her transcripts also. She is from the Phillipines. I wanted to answer your question. Some schools want Psychology 001. But other want Psychology 41, and Psychology001 too. I hope you California Boards resolve this issue fast. Good luck. I am a proud mother of three beautyful daughter. I currently live in Los Angeles California. I've worked as a heathecare provider for almost 10 years. I am curently in school to pursue my MSN in nursing, and wants to work as a pediactric nurse, in public health. |
